VerticaDB Operator

Chainguard's redistribution of the VerticaDB Operator Helm chart, pre-configured with hardened Chainguard Images.

The VerticaDB Operator deploys and manages Vertica Analytic Database clusters on Kubernetes and reconciles the VerticaDB, VerticaAutoscaler, EventTrigger, VerticaRestorePointsQuery, VerticaScrutinize, and VerticaReplicator custom resources.

Prerequisites

Authentication is required. First, authenticate with Chainguard:

chainctl auth login
chainctl auth configure-docker --pull-token --save
helm registry login cgr.dev

Create an image pull secret in the target namespace:

kubectl create namespace verticadb-operator
kubectl create secret docker-registry cgr-pull-secret \
  --docker-server=cgr.dev \
  --docker-username="$(echo cgr.dev | docker-credential-cgr get | jq -r '.Username')" \
  --docker-password="$(echo cgr.dev | docker-credential-cgr get | jq -r '.Secret')" \
  --namespace verticadb-operator

Installation

Install the chart from Chainguard's OCI registry:

helm install verticadb-operator oci://cgr.dev/ORGANIZATION/charts/verticadb-operator \
  --namespace verticadb-operator \
  --create-namespace \
  --set imagePullSecrets[0].name=cgr-pull-secret

To install the FIPS variant, use the fips OCI tag:

helm install verticadb-operator oci://cgr.dev/ORGANIZATION/charts/verticadb-operator \
  --version <chart-version>-fips \
  --namespace verticadb-operator \
  --create-namespace \
  --set imagePullSecrets[0].name=cgr-pull-secret

About This Chart

This is a redistribution of the upstream VerticaDB Operator Helm chart. The chart installs the operator, its RBAC, and the associated Vertica custom resource definitions. All upstream configuration options apply.
